Christmas Puff Dish Towel

Materials Needed: 2 balls of worsted weight cotton yarn one MC and one CC, H hook, sewing needle

ch 43

Row 1 - dc in 3rd ch from hook and in each remaining ch, ch 3 turn

Row 2-5 - dc in each dc across, ch 3 turn

Row 6 - dc in each dc across, fasten off yarn

Row 7 - join CC in last st just worked ch 2, *puff st in next st, hdc in next st* repeat from *to* across, ch 2 turn

Row 8 - hdc in each st across, ch 2 turn

Row 9 - ch 2, *puff st in next st, hdc in next st* repeat from *to* across, ch 2 turn

Row 10 - hdc in each st across, fasten off white.

Row 11- join MC in last st just worked ch 3, dc in each st across, ch 3 turn

Row 12 -24 - dc in each st across, ch 3 turn, at end of round 24 ch 1 turn

Row 25 - sc in each st across (42 total). Fasten off MC

Row 26- Attach CC with a sl st, ch 2, work dec hdc across (21 decreases) ch 2 turn

Row 27 - hdc in each st across (23 hdc including beg ch 2) ch 2 turn

Row 28 - work dec hdc across ( 11 decreases, 12 hdc total) ch 2 turn

Row 29 - hdc in each st across (12 total inc beg ch 2) ch 2 turn

Row 30 - *dec hdc, hdc in next st, repeat from * 3 times, dec hdc (8 sts total), ch 2 turn

Row 31- 42- hdc in each st across, ( 8 hdc including beg ch 2) ch 2 turn

Row 40 - hdc in next 3 sts, ch 12, hdc in last 4 sts, ch 1 turn

Row 41- sl st in each st across, including the ch 12

Fasten off

Irish Rose-

ch 4, join with a sl st to form a ring

Round 1 - ch 6, *dc, ch 3, in ring just made* 5 times, join with a sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 6

Round 2 - sl st into ch 3 sp, work ( sc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc, sc ) in each ch 3 sp, do not join.

The next round will be worked behind round 2

Round 3 - (sc around the next post of dc in round 1, ch 7) repeat this around, 5 times, ch 7 sl st around 1st dc (6 ch 7, sps total)

Round 4 - in 1st ch 7 sp work, (sc, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sc ) repeat this around in each ch 7 sp on prev round. Fasten off leaving a length of yarn to sew with.

Finishing:

Sew rose to the middle of row 28, to close the towel you will rap the ch 12 loop on round 40 around the rose.
