Ann's Sunflower Potholder

Materials Needed: Small amounts of worsted weight brown and orange yarn, I hook

Directions: 

You will work this entire potholder holding 2 strands of yarn

ch 5 join with a sl st to form a ring

Round 1 -  ch 2, work 7 hdc in ring join with a sl st to top of ch 2 (8 total)   (note: beginning ch 2 will count as first hdc throughout)

Round 2-  ch 2, hdc in same st, 2 hdc in each st around, Join with a sl st to top of ch 2  (16 total)

Round 3 -  ch 2, hdc in same st,  hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st* continue around from *to* join with a sl st to top of ch 2 (24 total)

Round 4 -  ch 2, hdc in same st, *hdc in next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st* repeat From *to * around join with a sl st to top of ch 2 (32 total) Fasten off Brown yarn.

Round 5 -  attach orange in any st with a sl st , ch 2,  hdc in each st around, join with a sl st in top of ch 2. (32 total)

Round 6 -  ch 1, *sc, hdc in same st as joining, 3 dc in next st, sc, hdc in next st. sc in next st * repeat from *to* 8 times sl st in 1st sc

Round 7 -  ch 1 sc in same st, *hdc in next 2 sts,  3 dc in next st, hdc in next 2 sts, sc in next 3 sts* repeat from *to* 8 times.  Fasten off orange.
