Shell Panel 

A panel afghan is worked width wise, you will need to make approximately 8 -10 panel for an afghan. The number of panels greatly depends on the width of each panel. The length of your panel is completely your choice. 

Materials Needed: G hook, worsted weight yarn

Directions:

ch 23

Row 1 - sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each remaining ch, ch 1 turn

Row 2 - sc in same st just made on prev row, (ch 2, sk 2 sts, sc in next st) 7 times, ch 1 turn

Row 3 -  sl st back into ch 2 sp, work beg shell (ch 3, dc, ch2, 2 dcs), *ch 2, skip next ch sp, work shell (2 dcs, ch 2, 2 dcs) in next sp*  repeat from *to* 3 times, ch 1 turn

Row 4 - sl st back into ch 2 sp of beg shell on prev rnd work beg shell (ch 3, dc, ch2, 2 dcs), *ch 1, shell in next shell (2 dcs, ch 2, 2 dcs) *  repeat from *to* 3 times, ch 1 turn

repeat row 4 until the piece measures 36 inches or desired length
