March 12" Aran Square

FPTC-  YO 2 times, insert hook from front to back and to front again around the vertical post (upright part) of  st, YO and draw yarn through, YO and complete TC

Popcorn - work 4 dc in stitch indicated, remove hook from yarn,  insert hook in first dc of the group, pull the dropped loop through and ch 1 to close (very important)

Side DC -  yo insert hook from the front of your work into the skipped st, yo and draw up a long loop so your stitches that you are crossing over lay flat, yo and draw through 2 loops, yo and draw through last 2 loops to complete the dc

Long Double Crochet- LDC - worked the same as a DC but you will be going into the skipped stitch on the row below. 

FPDC-  YO, insert hook from front to back and to front again around the vertical post (upright part) of  st, YO and draw yarn through, YO and complete dc

BPDC-  YO, reaching over top of piece and working on opposite side (right side) of work, insert hook from right to left around vertical post of next st, YO and draw yarn through, YO and complete dc.

Round 1- ch 3, work 11 dc in the ring,  join with a sl st to the top of ch 3

Round 2 - ch 3, work 4 dc in the same st, (*dc in next 2 sts, work 5 dc in next st*) repeat from *to* 3 times, dc in next 2 sts, join with a sl st around the front post of the beginning ch 3. 

Round 3 - ch 4, FPTC in next st, 5 TC in next st,  (*FPTC in enxt 6 sts, 5 TC in next st*) repeat form *to * 3 times,  FPTC in next 4 sts,  join with a sl st to top of ch 4

Round 4 - ch 3, popcorn in next st, dc in next st,  popcorn in next st, dc in next st, (* 3 dc in next st, (popcorn in next st, dc in next st)5 times *) repeat form *to*  3 times,  3 dc in next st,  (popcorn in next st, dc in next st) 3 times, join with a sl st in the ch 1 on top of the popcorn  

Round 5 -  ch 2 hdc in the next 4 sts, (* 3 hdc in the next st,  hdc in the next 12 sts*) repeat from *to*3 times,  3 hdc in next st, hdc in next 7 sts, join with a sl st to top of ch 2   (60 hdc total)  fasten off yarn

Round 6-  join yarn in 2nd hdc of any corner space , ch 3 for first dc, 2 more dc, ch 2, 3 dc in same st , * ( sk a st, dc in next 3 sts, side dc (see special stitches)  in skipped st, dc in next st, ch 1) 2 times,  sk a st, dc in next 3 sts, side dc   in skipped st,  in next st work 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc*)  repeat from *to* 3 times ( sk a st, dc in next 3 sts, side dc in skipped st, dc in next st, ch 1) 2 times,  sk a st, dc in next 3 sts, side dc in skipped st, join with a sl st to top of ch 3

Round 7 - ( NOTE: make sure you count the ch sp as a st and work it) sl st in the next 2 sts, sl st in the ch 2 sp,  and work ch 3, dc , ch 2, 2 dc in the same ch 2 sp, *( dc in next st, ch 1 skip a st ) 11 times, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in the next ch 2 corner sp* repeat from  *to* 3 times,  (*dc in next st, ch 1 skip a st *) repeat from *to* 11 times, join with a sl st to the top of ch 3

Round 9 -  sl st in next dc, sl st in ch 2 sp, work ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc, in same sp, *( BPDC in next st, FPDC in next st) repeat 15 times, work 2dc, ch2, 2dc in next corner sp)* repeat from *to* 3 times, BPDC in next st, FPDC in next st) repeat 15 times, join with a sl st to top of ch 3

Round 10- sl st in next dc, sl st in ch 2 sp, work ch 2, hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc, in same sp, *hdc in next 34 sts, in ch 2 corner sp work 2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc*  repeat from *to* 3 times, hdc in next 34 sts, join with a sl st to the top of beg ch 2

Round 11 - sl st in next st, 3 sc in next ch 2 corner sp, * (sc in BLO of the next 38 sts, work 3 sc in the next ch 2 corner sp)* repeat from *to * 3 times, sc in BLO of the next 38 sts, join with a sl st in the first sc

Round 12 - ch 2, work 3 hdc in next st, (*hdc in BLO of the next 40 sts, work 3 hdc in next st*) repeat from *to* 3 times, hdc in next 39 sts. Join with a sl st to the top of ch 2  FASTEN OFF
