Little Drummer Boys Drum

Materials Needed: small amounts of white, brown, black,  and blue worsted weight yarn, F hook, small amount of stuffing, sewing needle

Directions:

Drum:

Note: Do not join rounds, use a place marker at the beginning of each round to mark first stitch for drum and sticks

ch 4, join with a sl st to the top to form a ring

Round 1 - ch 1, work 5 sc in ring just formed

Round 2 - work 2 scs in each sc (10)

Round 3 - (sc in 1st sc, work 2 scs in next sc) continue this around (15 scs)

Round 4 - ( sc in the next 2 sts, work 2 scs in next sc) continue this around (20 scs)

Round 5 - (sc in the next 3 sts, work 2 scs in next sc) continue this around (25 scs) fasten off white and attach blue yarn

Round 6 - sc in BLO  of each st around (25)

Round 7-11- sc in each st around, at the end of round 11 sl st to first st of next st and fasten off

Top of drum:

With white yarn repeat round 1-5,  Fasten off leaving a long length of yarn to sew with.

Stitch with black yarn in the blue section in this pattern \/\/\/\/\ around  the drum. Refer to picture.

Stuff the drum and sew the top to the drum matching up each stitch.

Drum sticks- Make 2

ch 2

Round 1 - work 5 scs in 2nd chain from hook

Round 2 - sc in 1st st, 2scs in next st, sc in next st, 2 scs in next st, sc in next st (7)

Round 3-  (dec sc in next 2 sts) repeat 3 times, sc in next st (4)

Round 4-7 -  sc in each st around  Fasten off.

Attach stick to the top of the drum.

Hanger: 

attach blue with a slip stitch to the side of the drum as shown in the picture ch 22, sl st back into the same stitch on the side of the drum and Fasten off.
