Finished size: 12 inches

Materials Needed: H hook and worsted weight yarn

Special stitches:

Puff Stitch - ( YO insert hook in indicated st, YO , pull through) repeat 4 times, you will have 9 loops on hook, YO and pull through all 9 loops on hook

Triple Crochet -TC- YO hook twice, insert hook in stitch indicated, YO, draw a loop through, ( YO, draw through 2 loops on hook) 3 times

Directions:

ch 4 join with a sl st to form a ring

Round 1 -ch 1, work 8 sc in ring, join with a sl st to first sc (8)

Round 2 - ch 2, hdc in same st as joining, work 2 hdc in each sc around, join with a sl st in the top of ch 2 (16)

Round 3 - ch 3, dc in same st as joining, FPDC in next st, ( 2 dc in next st, FPDC in next st) repeat this 7 times, join with a sl st to top of ch 3 (24)

Round 4 - ch 3, dc in same st as joining, 2 dc in next st, FPDC in next st, * (2 dc in next st) twice, FPDC in next st* repeat from *to* 7 times join with a sl st to top of ch 3

Round 5 - ch 1, sc in same sp, *ch 4, sk 2 sts, sc in next st, ch 2 sk a st, sc in next st* 7 times ch 4, sk 2 sts, sc in next st, ch 2 sk a st, join with a sl st to top of first sc in round

Round 6 - sl st into ch 4 sp, ch 1, *work, (sc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc, sc in same ch 4 sp, this is called shell group on next rnd), 3 hdc in next ch 2 sp* repeat from *to* 8 times, join with a sl st to 1st sc

Round 7 - ch 1, sc in same sp as joining,** ch 3, sc in the 2nd dc of shell group on previous rnd, ch 3, sc in 1st hdc of of the 3 dc group on previous rnd, ch 3, *sc in 1st sc of shell group on previous rnd** repeat from **to**7 times, repeat from **to* once and join with a sl st to the first sc

Round 8 - ch 1 turn, (in next ch sp work, (sc, TC, sc, TC, sc) in next ch sp wor 3 hdc) repeat this around you will have 12 hdc groups and 12 TC groups. join with a sl st to 1st sc

Round 9 - ch 1 turn, sc in same sp as joining, *ch 3, sc in 1st sc of the TC group, ch 3, sc in last sc of the TC group* continue this round, join with a sl st to 1st sc, you will have 24 ch 3 loops when you are done

Round 10 - sl st into next ch 3 loop, work ch 3, 2dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1** (in next ch loop work 3 dc, ch 1) 5 times*, in next loop work, 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1** repeat from **to ** 3 times, repeat from **to* once, join with a sl st to top of beg ch 3

Round 11 - sl st into next 2 dcs sl st in ch 2 sp and work ch 3, 2 dcs, ch 2, 3 dcs, ch 3,** (in next ch 1 sp work puff st, ch 3) 6 times* in next sp work 3 dcs, ch 2, 3 dcs, ch3** repeat from **to** 3 times repeat from ** to * once, join with a sl st to the top of ch 3

Round 12 - sl st in next 2 dcs, sl st in ch 2 sp and work ch 4, 2 TC, ch 2, 4 TC, **ch 3 (work 3 TC in next ch sp, ch 1) 6 times, work 3 TC in next ch sp, ch 3*, in next corner sp work 3 TC, ch 2, 3 TC** repeat from **to** 3 times, repeat from **to * once, join with a sl st to top of ch 4
