FANCY SQUARE
Materials Needed: small amounts of 2 worsted weight yarns, G hook
This square is approximately 7 inches.
Special stitches: PUFF ST - YO hook insert hook into st YO and pull up a loop do this 3 times, you will have 7 loops on hook yo and pull it through all 11 loops on hook.
Instructions:
ch 4 join with a sl st to form a ring
Round 1 - ch 3, 9 dc in ring just made (10 total)
Round 2 - ch 3 dc, ch 1, dc in next st, continue around, dc ch 1 in last st, sl st to top of ch 3
Round 3 - ch 1 sc in each st and in each ch 1 sp, join with a sl st to 1st sc
Round 4 - ch 2 puff st *2 dc puff st * continue around from *to* ending with dc in the last st, sl st in the top of ch 3
Round 5 - ch 3 dc in last st of the previous round, *skip a st, dc in the next st, dc in the skip st * continue around from *to * join with a sl st in the top of ch 3. Fasten off.
Round 6 - join yarn in any st sc around doing a decrease in the 10th st and the 25th st, sl st in the 1st sc
Round 7 - * ch 3 skip next st, sc in the next st,* continue around from *to * sl st into the bottom of beginning ch 3
Round 8 - sl st into the 1st ch 3 sp, ch3, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1, in the same st, 3 dc, ch 1 in the next 4 sts *3 dc ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1 in the next st, 3dc, ch 1 in the next 4 sts * continue around from *to * sl st into the top of the beginning ch 3
Round 9 - ch 1 sc in each st around including the ch 1 sp, doing 2 sc in each ch 2 corner sp on previous round Fasten off.
