Decagon Coaster

DECAGON COASTER

This coaster is perfect for a great big mug of coffee or cocoa. Make yourself a coaster and celebrate with a cup of Java!!

Materials Needed: small amount of worsted or sport weight cotton, G hook

Directions:

Chain 5 join with a sl st

Rnd 1 - ch 3, dc 9 times in circle just made, join to top of ch 3 with a sl st (ch 3 counts as first dc, 10 dc total)

Rnd 2 - ch 3, 2 dc in joining st ch 1, 3 dc - ch 1 in remaning 9 dc, join with a sl st to top of ch 3 (10 groups of 3 dc - ch1 )

Rnd 3 - ch 3, dc in next 2 dc, dc ch 1 dc in next ch 1 sp on previous rnd * dc in next 3 dc on previous rnd , dc ch 1 dc in next ch 1 sp on previous rnd * continue around from *to* you should have 50 dc and 10 ch 1 sp total, join with a sl st to top of ch 3

Rnd 4 - ch 3, dc in next 3 dc ch 1 dc in next ch 1 sp * dc in next 5 sts dc ch 1 dc in next ch 1 sp* repeat around ending with dc in last st ,join with a sl st to top of ch 3

you should have 10 groups of 5 dc and 10 groups of dc ch 1 dc

to finish off sc around each st with one sc in the ch 1 sp you should have 80 sc, sl st in the first sc made and finish off.
