APPLE HOT PAD
Materials needed: 1 ball red cotton worsted weight yarn, scrap
of green cotton yarn, old CD, H hook, Sewing needle
MAKE 2
ch 4 join with a sl st to form a ring
Round 1 - ch 3, work 9 dc in ring just formed join with a sl st to top of ch 3
Round 2 - ch 3 dc in joining st, ch 1 2 dc in next st, ch 1,* 2 dc in next st, ch 1* continue form *to* join with a sl st to top of ch 3
Round 3 - ch 3 dc in next st, 1 dc in ch 1 sp on previous round,* dc in next 2 sts, 1 dc in ch 1 sp * continue form *to * ending with a sl st in top of ch 3
Round 4 - dc in each st across, sl st in the top of ch 3
Round 5 - ch 3 dc in joining st,* 2 dc in next st, ch 1* continue for *to * ending with a sl st in the top of ch 3 Fasten off first circle do not fasten off 2nd circle.
matching up the 2 pieces, sc in each st and in each ch 1 sp after about 1/2 insert the CD and stitch around to enclose the CD do not fasten off
To make the bottom of the apple ch 3, dc in next 4 sts, hdc in next st, sl st in next 3 sts, hdc in next st, dc in next 5 sts, Fasten off
Leaf:
ch 7, sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next chs, tr in last 2 ch. ch 7 sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in each remaining ch, join with a sl st to side of stem.
