Patriotic Kitchen Set

 

Materials Needed: red, white, and blue cotton worsted weight yarn, G hook

Directions for Dishcloth:

with red ch 5

join with a sl st to form a ring

round 1 - in ring just made work, ch 3, dc, *ch 2, 2 dc* repeat from *to* 4 times, ch 2, join with sl st to top of ch 3

Round 2 - ch 3, dc in next st, *in next ch 2 sp work 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc, dc in next 2 sts* repeat from *to* 4 times, in next ch 2 sp work 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc, join with a sl st to top of ch 3. Fasten off red

Round 3 - in any ch 2 sp on prev rnd, join white with a sl st, ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc, in same sp, *dc in next 6 sts, in next ch 2 sp work, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc* repeat from *to* 4 times, dc in next 6 sts, join with a sl st to top of ch 3. Fasten off white.

Round 4 -  in any ch 2 sp on prev rnd, join blue with a sl st, ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc, in same sp, *dc in next 10 sts, in next ch 2 sp work, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc* repeat from *to* 4 times, dc in next 10 sts, join with a sl st to top of ch 3. Fasten off blue.

Round 5 - in any ch 2 sp on prev rnd, join red with a sl st, ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc, in same sp, *dc in next 14 sts, in next ch 2 sp work, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc* repeat from *to* 4 times, dc in next 14 sts, join with a sl st to top of ch 3. Fasten off red.

Round 6 - in any ch 2 sp on prev rnd, join white with a sl st, ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc, in same sp, *dc in next 18 sts, in next ch 2 sp work, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc* repeat from *to* 4 times, dc in next 18 sts, join with a sl st to top of ch 3. Fasten off white.

Round 7 - in any ch 2 sp on prev rnd, join blue with a sl st, ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc, in same sp, *dc in next 22 sts, in next ch 2 sp work, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc* repeat from *to* 4 times, dc in next 22 sts, join with a sl st to top of ch 3. Fasten off blue

 

 

 

Directions for Hot Pad:

Materials Needed: red, white and blue cotton worsted weight yarn, I hook

Entire hot pad is worked with 2 strands held together

with 2 strands of red, chain 5, join with a sl st to form a ring

round 1 - in ring just made work, ch 3, dc, *ch 2, 2 dc* repeat from *to* 4 times, ch 2, join with sl st to top of ch 3

Round 2 - ch 3, dc in next st, *in next ch 2 sp work 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc, dc in next 2 sts* repeat from *to* 4 times, in next ch 2 sp work 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc, join with a sl st to top of ch 3. Drop one strand of red and cut it. Pick up one strand of white.

Round 3 - with one strand of red and one of white ch 3, dc in next 3 sts,*in next ch 2 sp work 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc, dc in next 6 sts* repeat from *to* 4 times, in next ch 2 sp work 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc, dc in next 2 sts join with a sl st to top of ch 3 Drop red and cut it. Pick up one strand of white.

Round 4 - with 2 strands of white, ch 3, dc in next 5 sts,*in next ch 2 sp work 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc, dc in next 10 sts* repeat from *to* 4 times, in next ch 2 sp work 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc, dc in next 4 sts join with a sl st to top of ch 3,  drop one strand of white and cut it. Pick up one strand of blue.

Round 5 - with one strand of white and one of blue , ch 3, dc in next 7 sts,*in next ch 2 sp work 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc, dc in next 14 sts* repeat from *to* 4 times, in next ch 2 sp work 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc, dc in next 6 sts join with a sl st to top of ch 3 .  Fasten off white and blue.
