Mitten Ornament

Materials Needed: small amount of red and green worsted weight yarn, G hook, sewing needle

Directions:

Special Stitches:

dec hdc - YO insert hook in stitch indicated pull up a loop, inset hook in next st pull up a loop, YO and pull through all lops on hook

Make 2 of the following

ch 8

Row 1 - hdc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 6 chs, ch 1 turn

Row 2-3  - hdc in each st across, ch 1 turn (7)

Row 4 -  hdc in next 5 sts, skip last 2 sts, ch 1 turn

Row 5 - hdc in next 5 sts, ch 1 turn

Row 6 - (dec hdc in next 2 sts) repeat twice, hdc in last st, ch 1 turn

Row 7 - YO insert hook in first st pull up a loop, insert hook in next st pull up a loop, insert hook in next st pull of a loop, YO and pull through all loops on hook.  Fasten off.

Place both pieces together sew the mitten shut leaving the bottom open.

Attach green with a sl st in the corner of the mitten on the bottom and work a sc in each st around, sl st  to first sc ch 22, sl st into beg sc and Fasten off.
