Bar Stitch Dish Towel

Materials Needed: ounces of blue cotton worsted weight yarn, 1 ounce of white cotton worsted weight yarn, H hook, sewing needle

Directions:

With Blue yarn

ch 44

Row 1 - sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 1 turn (43)

Row 2 - sc in first sc, (ch 2, skip 2 sc, sc in next st) across, ch 1 turn

Row 3 - sc in first sc, (ch2, skip bar, sc in next sc) repeat across, ch 1 turn

Row 4-44 - repeat row 3

Row 45- sc in first st, (2 scs in next bar st, sc in next st) across turn

Row 46 - ch1, (sc, dec sc in next st) repeat across, turn (29)

Row 47 - ch1, (sc, dec sc in next st) repeat across, turn (19)

Row 48 - ch1, (sc, dec sc in next st) repeat across, dec sc in last 2 sts,turn(13)

Row 49- ch1, (dec sc in next st) repeat 6 times, sc in last st, turn (7)

Row 50-72 - ch 1, hdc in each st across, turn (7)

Row 73 - ch 1, sc in next 3 sts, ch 10, sc in next 4 sts. Fasten off.

Bottom Ruffle:

Row 1 - At the bottom of the towel with white yarn, working on the wrong side, sc in first st, *ch 2, skip 2 sts, sc in next st* repeat across, ch 1 turn

Row 2 - sc in next ch 2 sp, *5 dc in next ch 2 sp, sc in next ch 2 sp,* 6 times, 5 dc in next ch 2 sp, sc in next sc, turn

Row 3 - ch 1, *work 5 dc in next ch 2 sp, sc in next ch 2 sp,* 7 times, 5 dc in next ch 2 sp. Fasten off White

Flower Closure:

Round 1 - ch 4, join with a sl st to fist ch

Round 2 - ch 1, *sc in ring, ch 3* repeat 5 times, sl st in 1st sc

Round 3 - attach white with a sl st, ch 1, *sc, hdc, 3 dcs, hdc, sc in next ch 3 sp* 5 times, join with a sl st to 1st sc. Fasten off, leaving a long length of yarn to sew with. Sew to row 48.
