Ashley's Chic Purse
My daughter and I designed this purse and she crocheted the entire thing. She is 10 and is a crochet fanatic like her Mom!!! Great job Ashley! I love you!
Materials Needed: Light blue and dark blue worsted weight yarn, H hook, button, sewing needle Directions: With Light Blue and H hook ch 33 Round 1 - hdc in 2nd ch from hook and in each remaining ch, continuing around the back side of the ch working 1 hdc in each st on the back side of the ch (66 hdc) Round 2-6 - hdc in each st around using a stitch marker to mark the first st of each row. Do not fasten off , just drop light blue and join dark blue with a sl st Round 7-10 - hdc in each st around with dark blue, at the end of row 10 drop and cut dark blue and pick up light blue with a sl st Round 11 - 27 - hdc in each st around making the flap: at the end of round 27 your purse will be square, crochet just to the corner to make a perfect square, ch1 and turn, hdc all the way across to next corner, ch 1 turn (this should be 33 hdc) Row 1-7 hdc in each st across, ch 1 turn, at end of round 7, hdc in next 16 sts, ch 3, hdc in last 16 sts, Fasten off light blue.
Strap : ch 100 or desired length, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each remaining ch, fasten off leaving a length of yarn to sew with. Sew strap to purse. Sew button on purse.
